- Significant Achievements In Commissioning Of Kutch Lignite TPS Units:
In spite of severe infrastructural limitations and the remote location of the project site, it may be worthwhile to note below the various salient features in commissioning of the units:-
- The machine was synchronized within 44 days from light-up (Indian Utility Standard period: 180 days).
- The machine was taken to lignite firing and full load on the 50th day (Indian Utility Standard period: 180 days)
- The machine was taken to full load through innovation and local efforts within 10 months of hydro-test in spite of non-availability of foreign experts services as well as failure of a lot of imported components (Indian Utility Standard period: 12 months).
- Alkali boilout completed within 3 days of light-up.
- Acid cleaning completed within 10 days of boiler light-up (Indian Utility Standard period: 60 days).
- Steam blowing completed within 15 blows spread over 21 days of boiler light-up (Indian Utility Standard period: 90 days).
- All operations were carried out through remote control.
